We ensure that banking operations adhere to the highest standards

The Committee of Heads of Bank Operations (CHBO) is a professional body comprising senior representatives from all Deposit Money Banks (DMBs) in Nigeria. The committee was established to drive strategic alignment and foster operational excellence across the banking sector.

Through regular collaboration and dialogue, CHBO engages proactively with key industry stakeholders, including the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System (NIBSS), and the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN).

Our collective objective is to ensure that banking operations nationwide adhere to the highest standards of regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and customer-centric innovation. CHBO serves as a unifying platform to share best practices, develop standardized procedures, and respond cohesively to emerging operational challenges across the industry.

We promote operational excellence

The Committee of Heads of Bank Operations (CHBO) brings together top operations executives from Nigeria’s Deposit Money Banks (DMBs) to foster a unified approach to banking operations.

We work collectively to improve how banks serve customers by promoting operational excellence, ensuring strict compliance with banking regulations, and engaging openly with industry stakeholders.

Our collaborations with regulatory and institutional partners such as the CBN, NIBSS, and CIBN are central to shaping policies, streamlining processes, and driving innovation within the Nigerian financial ecosystem.

At CHBO, we believe that a connected, transparent, and efficient banking environment benefits not only the industry but also every Nigerian who depends on it.
