About CHBO

Committee of Heads of Bank Operations (CHBO) is made up of representatives of the Deposit Money Banks (DMBs), having resolved to organize ourselves for the purpose of promoting operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder engagement within the industry, through collaboration with stakeholders including Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System (NIBSS), Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), and Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN).

Objectives Of CHBO

1. Foster collaboration among the banking industry stakeholders including regulators (i.e CBN, NDIC etc)

2. Address emerging issues in the banking industry operations and regulatory compliance.

3. Organize training and development initiatives to enhance operational capabilities.

4. Engage with regulatory and professional bodies to advance industry growth and value addition.

5. Promote sustainable confidence within the banking industry through regular consultations and strategic initiatives.

MEMBERSHIP

Core Members

All Deposit Money Banks (DMBs) shall be represented by their respective Head of Operations, and a senior officer nominated by the Head of Operations shall be the alternate member.

Non-Core Members

(a) Representatives from Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN),

(b) Representatives from Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System (NIBSS)

In exigent circumstances, other relevant stakeholders may be invited to join meetings as deemed necessary to address pertinent issues.
